What Are The Differences Between Independent and Assisted Living?

Independent Living is appropriate for individuals 62+ or disabled persons who need a little extra help to maintain their independence.  They may struggle with transportation, keeping up with the housework or yard work and meal preparation.  They may feel somewhat isolated or bored and would benefit from fun activities and social opportunities. They may require occasional assistance with personal care or medication management.

Assisted Living is appropriate for individuals 62+ or disabled persons who, in addition to needing transportation, housekeeping, meals and activities, also require regular/ongoing assistance with activities of daily living like personal care or medication management.  They may no longer feel safe at home alone.  They need access to caregiver assistance 24/7.
